Holyrood Academy Expansion
Futures for Somerset (the Somerset Local Education Partnership) have been appointed by Somerset County Council to deliver a new accommodation block as part of strategic plans for education spaces in Chard. Chard’s population is growing and in order to meet projected demand for school places, this project will increase Holyrood’s capacity by an additional 220 places by 2022.
The new £6.2 m build will incorporate a purpose-built student/dining area, six classrooms, new office spaces, meeting rooms, a single point of entry into the school and also includes an extensive refurbishment of the existing accommodation and modernisation of science facilities.
The new accommodation and refurbishment was designed by Grainge Architects and the Principal Contractor for the project is BAM Construct.
